About us
The Instituto de Direito Societário Aplicado – IDSA is a not-for-profit civil association, for research, development and promotion of corporate law and capital market through studies and discussions.
It was born out of the initiative of a group of lawyers, scholars of corporate law and capital market, who met on a monthly basis to discuss topics related to what would become IDSA’s objective.
The quality of the debates and, mainly of the attendees, encouraged the creation of a legal entity on January 27, 2005, 10 months after the first unpretentious meeting.
By the way, this is the main line of direction of the Institute: regular meetings, at which its members debate a previously selected topic. The second line of direction is the continuous exchange, among its members, of information, articles, decisions about corporate law and capital market.
The third and last – but not least – derives from IDSA nature. As the Institute was set to research, develop and promote knowledge, the results of its investigations are disseminated in order to contribute to the academic debate and, above all, to help professionals who work in these areas.
This can happen in two ways: (i) organization of collective works or participation of its members in collective works or in professional journals and encouraging the publication of monographs; and (ii) holding lectures and seminars or participation of its members in events of such natures.
